Clinical Pharmacists
Our Clinical Pharmacist can perform medication reviews, make changes to long term medication regimes and advise on most medication related questions or problems e.g side effects. We also have clinical pharmacists working for us from our Primary Care Network (PCN) who you may speak to.
Locum GPs
When our GPs are away from the surgery we may employ GP locums. These are fully trained and registered GPs. If you are asked to see one of our Locum GPs rest assured you will receive the same care and attention as you would from your own GP.
GP Registrars
Penryn Surgery is a training practice which means we have one or two GP Registrars working with us for 6 to 12 months at a time. A Registrar is a fully trained doctor usually with several years wide-ranging experience working in hospital before coming to General Practice. The training year is generally the final step before seeking a permanent post as a GP.
Medical & Nursing Students
There are times when we have medical, PA and nursing students sitting in with the doctor or nurse - if you would rather be seen alone please do not hesitate to say so. The GP or Nurse may ask the student to lead the consultation as part of their training, but they will always do so under the supervision of a trainer and the outcome of a consultation will always be agreed between a patient and a GP/Nurse.
Administration
Working with the management team are the reception, secretarial and clerical team and the cleaners. They are all vital to the smooth running of the surgery.
Community Nurses
The Falmouth & Penryn community nurse team provide nursing care and advice to patients who are housebound due to illness or infirmity and to patients recently discharged from hospital. They can be contacted at Falmouth Hospital on 01326 430370.
