Autumn 2023 Flu Vaccines

We don't want to wish the summer away but we're already looking ahead and planning our flu clinics which will take place in September.

Please don't call us, patients will be invited towards the end of August.

We invite eligible patients by text and email wherever possible, so please ensure we have your current mobile number and email address. Update them here

You will be able to book direct into the clinics from the link in your invitation.

Patients who don't have electronic contact details on record will receive a letter. However, in line with our Greener Practice values, we would prefer not to use more paper or carbon than necessary

Flu and Covid Vaccines Spring 2023

We will NOT be offering Covid boosters at the practice this Spring.

COVID-19 is more serious in older people and in people with certain underlying health conditions. For these reasons, people aged 75 years and over, those in care homes, and those aged 5 years and over with a weakened immune system are being offered a spring booster of COVID-19 vaccine.

There is a programme to vaccinate any of our patients who are housebound or reside in care/nursing homes and they will be contacted.

If you have become housebound since the autumn boosters were administered, please let our reception team know so we can arrange your booster at home.

You should be offered an appointment between April and June, with those at highest risk being called in first. You will be invited to have your booster around 6 months from your last dose but you can have it from 3 months.

If you are turning 75 years of age between April and June, you will be called for vaccination during the campaign; you do not have to wait for your birthday.

Please accept the vaccination that is offered to you as soon as you are able to – you will be offered the right vaccine for you at the right time.

You can book by calling 119 or click HERE to book online

IMMUNISATION

Do I Need To Be Protected Against Pneumococcal Infection?

Everybody aged 65 and over should now be immunised to help protect them against pneumococcal infection which can cause diseases such as pneumonia, septicaemia (blood poisoning) and meningitis. This is a ONE OFF vaccine for the vast majority of patients, with the single jab providing long lasting immunity.

Eligible patients will be invited as they become eligible i.e. turning 65, or being diagnosed with an eligible condition.
